Caregiver Arrested for Abuse and Neglect

Billy Gross Spicer, 21, was charged with one count of knowingly abusing or neglecting an adult, a Class C felony; one count of unlawful imprisonment in the first degree, a Class D felony; and one count of terroristic threatening in the third degree, a Class A misdemeanor. Read more at

Resident sues nursing home

Mary Virginia Lush, 82, through her guardian, the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, filed suit against Genesis HealthCare’s Edmonson Center nursing home Thursday alleging negligence, violation of Kentucky Residents’ Rights Statute, medical negligence, corporate negligence and claims against administrator Carolyn Torrence.

3 Indicted for Elderly Abuse in Brownsville Nursing Home

On Wednesday, September 3, the Edmonson County Grand Jury returned indictments on three individuals, stemming from an investigation conducted by the Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green, at Genesis Healthcare Edmonson Center Nursing Home in Brownsville. A total of 69 criminal charges were brought against three employees.
